Sebastian J. Langdell is a writer of fiction and nonfiction. He is currently at work on his third book, DANTE IN AMERICA. His work has appeared or is forthcoming in The New York Times, The LA Review of Books, Witness, Electric Literature, the Vassar Review, Arc Magazine, and the Oxford History of Poetry in English, among other venues. He has been awarded fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Huntington Library. He is Associate Professor of English at Baylor University. He grew up between London and Los Angeles, and now lives in Austin, Texas.

Langdell is also the author of Thomas Hoccleve: Religious Reform, Transnational Poetics, and the Invention of Chaucer, and the editor of Thomas Hoccleve’s Collected Shorter Poems. He holds a Ph.D. in English from Oxford University, and an M.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to his time at Baylor, he taught at Oxford and Vassar.
